Kaiser can be physically touchy and weaponizes flirting in a kind of fucked-up "asserting his dominance" way, so definitely open to driving things towards a shipping dynamic on my end.
Canon prefs: Open to any! I like all of his major ships, and I like exploring the potential for rarepairs too.

Generally, a mind-reader would find that Kaiser is way more coherent in thought than he is when he speaks; he thinks with a high level of rationality and internal consistency. However, he has a strong tendency to not (fully) explain himself to others. It would also be readily apparent that he is a Fake Extrovert and is generally negative towards others and himself.

For characters with a modern day canon background that can be blended into his and might have some interest in following soccer, Kaiser plays for the equivalent of Germany's most successful team, FC Bayern Munich, and it would be well-known that he also has a competing offer from the world's all-time top-ranked team, Real Madrid CF. (Their legally distinct names in Blue Lock are Bastard München and Re Ale/Re Al/Real/Literally Just Real Madrid because the localizers can't make up their minds.)

CHARACTER WARNINGS
He has self-harm tendencies (regularly self-asphyxiates), seems to regularly have passive suicidal ideations, rather openly has trust and codependency issues, and can be very toxic/abusive to the people around him.

Kaiser was abandoned by his mother shortly after his birth and physically/verbally/emotionally abused by his father for most of his life. His childhood was spent in poverty, and he was forced by his father to steal food and other necessities since a young age. By the time he was 11, he'd turned to stealing jewelry and valuables to save money to run away from home.
A major consequence of being neglected and abused by his father is that Kaiser doesn't think of himself as a person, but something subhuman, a "piece of shit". The manga is not even remotely subtle about this: he fundamentally self-identifies with being something that is abused by others and passively takes it. Although he genuinely yearns to be treated as a human being and loved by others, it's difficult for him to handle affection or positive attention from others. He prefers to treat others and be treated "with malice" because it's what he understands and is completely self-aware that this is his way of coping with his abusive upbringing.
Basically, his personality is similar to his symbol of the thorny rose. At his core, Kaiser thinks of himself as a passive object yearning for something impossible (blue rose), and actively protects his basest self-identity by preemptively treating others maliciously (thorns).
This has left him incapable of having normal relationships in a lot of ways:
- Although he's shown to be restrained, solitary, passive, and inexpressive by nature, he seems to have deliberately constructed most of his external personality to be more extroverted, assertive, and socially appealing than he is by nature, and often acts like he's playing a role.
- He looks for people he can manipulate, and actively seeks for situational advantages that make it easier for him to get what he wants — he's the type of person who would ask for a favor in front of others to make it more awkward to turn him down, for example. He even goes as far as to read psychology textbooks to understand how to better make others do what he wants to do and how to pick up on others' vulnerabilities.
For RP purposes, I'm open to whatever interpretation from "I can't fix him (I can make him worse)" to "I can't fix him (I can/must accept him as he is)" to "I can fix him (with a lot of work)" works best contextually.
Because of the type of physical abuse he experienced, he has a tendency to touch his neck when stressed out, and will go as far as to choke himself. This is implied to happen semi-regularly. But one of the few times in canon he looks visibly uncomfortable is when somebody else touches him near his neck.
Finally, as a result of being dehumanized (and dehumanizing himself), Kaiser seems to regularly have passive suicidal ideations revolving around the fact that he's not sure how to assess if he's truly "living" or not. He checks his pulse regularly so he can verify he's alive in a physical sense. In his internal dialogue, he mentions a few times that he "just [wants] to feel like [he's] alive", and he is dependent on his ability to affect or receive others' (negative) emotions towards him to affirm his own existence.
As an aside, it's possible to read into some of his mannerisms as implying he's experienced sexual abuse — "I have a physiological aversion to white liquids"; he gets very touchy with others to assert dominance but shows an adverse reaction to being touched by others; he seems to associate being touched with uncleanliness; he gets unusually emotional when an older man taunts him for his reputation of being "deferential to those above [him]"; the fact that his face is a dead ringer for his biological mother's, whom his father is fixated on — but I don't explicitly rp him as such or bring it up unless it's something discussed ahead of time.
Also, this series often defies common sense/Real Life Sports in general (rest in peace to my not-info post that lived for 3 months), so sorry to any real sports fans out there... finally, the sport is "soccer" to me by default, but I use soccer/football interchangeably and unpredictably.
