Oh goodness, no. While I appreciate the vote of confidence, I don't know the first thing about what being a good mother entails. It would be irresponsible of me to have a child while knowing I couldn't do them right, so I'm happy to stick with hedgehogs.
[ he is not touching that with a 10-foot pole. nope!!! if it's any consolation, riddle is just a fussy busybody in general; it's equal parts noblesse oblige and the need for control of everything around him. after all, if you want something done right, you need to do it yourself.
it's fine though...he's used to people being defiant shitrags, though not as much recently now that he's been taking conscious steps to mellow the fuck out. also, he doesn't exactly know what he wants or expects out of this rekindled friendship, but thankfully mothering kaiser is probably out the window because riddle is absolutely useless domestically. which is also fine!! there are other ways to take care of someone, not that riddle wants to take care of him...except maybe he does. admittedly, in his mind he still sees that scruffy and sullen little boy from all those years ago.
also, riddle has to wonder if he's??? being manipulated or not, because half of him thinks this diatribe about self awareness is bullshit, but also, he's had some Bad Experiences with his being an overbearing control-freak. what if kaiser comes to resent him if he lectures him too much? it's happened before with his peers... is it worth the risk? ]
Oh, bother... I don't know what to make of anything you just said. While self-awareness is good, the fact remains you should heed good advice whether you like it or not. That being said, I *have* been trying to be more lenient and cut back on my lecturing lately, so you have to tell me before it becomes unbearable. Alright?
[ that should be fine... man, this is turning into an emotional rollercoaster. kaiser isn't even "back" yet and riddle's already freaking out about losing him.
as if that wasn't bad enough, seeing those little -_-'s is starting to leave him pissed off and upset. granted, riddle is always pissed off about something, but this hits different. ]
I didn't mean it that way... I don't have a single negative thing to say about you. I never have. I'm happy to know you're diligent and hardworking.
[ riddle wants to tell him he's the best thing to ever happen to him and he would only nag him because he genuinely cares about him, he wants to give him all the praise he's due because hard work should always be celebrated...
but his crazy ass isn't unaware of the fact kaiser tactfully avoided mentioning whether he cared about him in turn, so!! riddle will just keep these embarrassing sentiments to himself, as well as make a million assumptions about where they stand and take them all as fact. very normal and cool behavior, not at all insufferable!
despite wanting to throw up and fucking die because of this, riddle refuses to dip from the conversation. the past always hurts to think about anyway, and it's not like kaiser being less affected by their relationship changes anything. ]
Is that so? I'm not well-educated on matters of physical fitness, and I can only imagine the rigorous expectations placed on a professional athlete. Well, hard work *should* be rewarded, and far be it from me to turn down an opportunity to eat sweets as well. So long as you give me prior notice, I'll happily accompany you on your designated sweets days.
