The situation is that it's cold during winter and these hedgehogs need to get closer to each other to stay warm and not freeze to death... but they're hedgehogs, so if they get close to each other, they'll prick each other with their quills. The dilemma is that they can't be close to each other and they can't be apart from each other either. Schopenhauer says that's why social norms exist for humans, so that they can better judge the right distance to keep...

Where was I supposed to see a hedgehog living in a German city, at the zoo? I've never been anywhere like that... I think that I haven't seen that many real animals, now that I think about it. Unless it counts if I've seen drawings?

A zoo probably has... more variety, I guess. More predators too, maybe.

I thought that's because the ocean is so deep and people fear the unknown. Isn't it mostly fish down there? I've eaten too many fish to be scared of them.
