I don't mind most exercise, but crunches are the most annoying.
[He didn't know why he disliked them so much, just that he did. He likes running and lifting weights, though not so much leg day, but working on his chest and arms is enjoyable.
And, of course, practicing with a ball in his hands.]
Thank you. And no, they're not too common. Too associated with the Yakuza. It's to the point where public bathhouses will ban people with tattoos from entering, even foreigners, to their confusion and irritation. Hot springs, too.
[ though kaiser doesn't mind running. cardio is fine! ]
o yeah i think my team manager said something about that before we came to japan but i forgot about it until now not that its a big deal since i wasnt going to go to places like that in the first place
Hinojo, serpiente y junco Aroma, rastro y penumbra aire, tierra y soledad
(La escala llega a la luna)
"Nocturno Esquematico" by Federico Garcia Lorca. If I had to pick just one of those lines, it'd be the last one. It made me laugh when I asked my mother to translate for me, but she made me understand what a metaphor was afterward, and I should always aim high.
[ kaiser has been exposed to enough other language that he can understand that poem... mostly... he may have had to go off of vibes a bit, but the last line is pretty straightforward. ]
i dont get the metaphor, though then again, i dont really read poetry, so maybe that was to be expected -_-
You would need to know more than German and English to communicate with other teammates. Didn't Re Al put in an offer for you? They're in Spain, if I recall correctly.
Perhaps. I don't read much, either, but my mother thought it was important that I know some about poetry.
english is sufficient in most cases but yeah, it never hurts to pick up the language of whatever league you end up in. it also is useful to be able to cuss people out in their native tongue [ heh ]
? thats surprising you seem like the type who would be very well read
Not as much as I'd like. I am a very busy person. Basketball, student council, and my studies all take time, and I don't have the opportunity to read for leisure. And when I do, I tend to gravitate towards nonfiction.
me too, actually i think its better to read with a purpose in mind... ive never really gotten into reading fiction. though i do like watching movies...
That's a good point. One of my teammates has an awful attention span, but he's riveted when watching superhero movies. The early movies had some charm to them but after a while...
But, yes, I do enjoy science fiction. I enjoy it more when it doesn't involve aliens and the work explores the relationship between humanity and technology, though I don't mind if they're there.
[ live fast 👍 die young 👍 kaiser doesn't want to live with the consequences of being malnourished, uneducated, and beaten on a regular basis once he doesn't have youth to cushion all of these physical issues 👍 ]
isnt that more of an ancient greek thing? or really more of a "humans everywhere all the time" thing?

If not for that, I would get one when I'm older.
[Something for his mother.]

Something for my mother. Her favorite line of poetry.

so whats the line?
I had to go through my poetry collection for this. I forgot how much I loved Lorca
Aroma, rastro y penumbra
aire, tierra y soledad
(La escala llega a la luna)

That said, Audrey Hepburn is my favorite actress.

I am, as they say, a Renaissance man. I play the violin and piano as well.

[ he's just teasing... mostly. ]
wow
do you also paint and philosophize
no subject
According to my friends, I philosophize about victory. But that's mostly teasing. I have painted, but I'm not very good at it.
no subject
what else does a so-called renaissance man do, then
die prematurely?
[ you know, on account of lifespans back then... ]

[Given his mother died early, Akashi considers it's more possible than not.]
They sleep with pretty young men and women when they can get away with it.

more of a "humans everywhere all the time" thing?

Yes, it's a "humans all the time" thing. It's become less of a thing with the advent of Christianity.
[Well, it wasn't just the Christians but they were the biggest culprits. And, of course, the way humans all over were obsessed with bloodlines.]
no subject
[ akashi probably meant something else by that, but this is where kaiser's mind went. ]
... well at the end of the day, humans are animals too
chasing pleasure is probably a matter of instinct

True enough.
Pleasure can be a distraction, so like most things, moderation is best.
