I think it's a consideration thing? I haven't really thought about it too hard before..

Like, I don't want to get anything on someone's clothes, or make a mess of the table and make it hard to clean up if I'm out somewhere.

being brought up well... i suppose to me, that would mean, a reasonably stable house... with at least one proper adult who would explain things to the child and take care of its needs
